Our alma mater is unique in many ways, not least of which are its continuing twin commitments to need-blind admissions and need-based financial aid. As stated on its financial aid home page: “Dartmouth College is committed to the philosophy that the cost of a college education should not be a deterrent to prospective or current students.”
These have always been bold tenets, but they perhaps have never been as challenging as they have become as we head into the second decade of the 21st century.
Of all the worldwide Dartmouth alumni clubs, the Dartmouth Club of the Midwest has long led the way in providing financial aid to students from this
region– more than $1.6 million since the beginning of the program. Financial aid is taken only from investment income of our scholarship funds, never principal. This means that a gift to the DCMW Scholarship Funds quite literally becomes “the gift that keeps on giving.”
In addition to providing a fun golf outing and camaraderie, the DCMW golf tournament provides an opportunity for each of us to increase the principal balances of the DCMW Scholarship Funds. Whether you are able to join us at this year’s tournament or not, please take a few moments to play an important part in making the unique experience that is Dartmouth College
available to exceptional students from our area!
